A visionary entrepreneur with over 25 years of combined education, leadership, training and operational experience in emergency and disaster management, homeland security and law enforcement roles at the federal, state, and private sectors. Ricardo holds a Masters Degree in Emergency and Disaster Management, a Masters Degree in Homeland Security, a BA in Management and an AA in Criminal Justice. Ricardo is also a training professional with over two decades of experience training personnel for various government agencies, the private sector, and non-profit organizations.
Ricardo has extensive training and operational experience in crisis response, disaster management, and planning. His law enforcement background includes recruiting informants, gathering and analyzing intelligence, suppressing criminal activity in high-crime areas, hostage rescue work, riot control, active shooter response, criminal investigations, counter-narcotics, aviation security, and force protection work in the United States and abroad. Additional experience includes providing training in healthcare, search & rescue, police tactics, unarmed combat and tactical firearms training to civilians, security personnel, protection professionals, police officers, and federal law enforcement officers.
Ricardo’s law enforcement experience includes force protection work in the United States and overseas, dignitary and witness protection work, border security and force protection operations. Additional experience includes extensive work as a tactical team leader, designated marksman, and team medic of a Special Operations Unit in intensive criminal activity areas at one of the busiest regions in Puerto Rico. With such an array of specialized training and experience, SSG leadership counts with an extensive knowledge-base in government operations, law enforcement operations and in the security and protective services industry.
Prior employers include the Federal Air Marshal Service, the Federal Aviation Administration, the US Border Patrol, and the Puerto Rico Police Department. Ricardo has also provided support to various state and federal agencies, including various specialized units from the FBI and US Customs, and participated on special inter-agency projects with agencies such as the Immigration and Naturalization Services, legacy U.S. Customs, the USDA and US Fish and Wildlife along the US-Mexico Border.
Having served as an instructor for various law enforcement agencies, local and national training organizations since the early 1990s, our founder has been responsible for developing various basic and advanced training programs in addition to personally training, developing and retaining personnel. At a local level, our founder has volunteered for various community causes; including leadership and training roles with organizations such as the American Red Cross, the American Heart Association, The Boy Scouts of America, and the Puerto Rico Civil Defense Search & Rescue school.
Past accomplishments of our founder include commendations from the US Border Patrol, the Immigration and Naturalization Services, the USDA; the Puerto Rico Police Department Special Operations Unit, the PR Police Department Counter-Narcotics Division and the PR Police Academy Medical Services Unit were he served as a Police Medic, police instructor and shift supervisor, providing medical support and leading medical teams during police raids, sporting events and other special events throughout Puerto Rico.
